Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced CNC Assistant Operator to start work immediately.

Job purpose
To carry out CNC machining
Key accountabilities
• Machine accurate, high quality components
• Maintain quality standards
• Achieve production volume targets
• Maintain accurate production records
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment

Person specification

• Careful and accurate with strong attention to detail
• Organised and tidy

Knowledge and experience
• An aptitude for, and interest in mechanical engineering is desirable
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment – training will be provided

Skills and abilities
• Willingness to learn new skills

Role will be working night shifts Monday to Thursday 20:00 to 06:00

As an assistant CNC operator they would work alongside an experienced CNC operator machining production parts, taking responsibility for the normal operation of the machine and escalating any issues to their colleagues rather than being expected to problem solve themselves

Initial training will be provided on machine operation and precision measurement and as their experience grows there may be the opportunity to take more responsibility in the team and to possibly join one of the three shift rota teams

There will be an initial training period of 3 weeks on days from 06:00 to 14:00 to work alongside the regular operators before starting permanent nights
